SAAS Making Toys for Animal Enrichment!

Today, SAAS worked together to make some dog toys for the Willowbrook WIldlife Center! The toys were made from old socks, tennis balls, duck tape, shirts, and toilet paper rolls. These toys will be given to the animals at the center for enrichment purposes. SAAS will be delivering these items themselves to the center. Pictures can be found in the Photo Gallery!
Out of the Dark- A Presentation by Nicole Yarmolkevich

On Thursday, November 1st, Nicole Yarmolkevich gave her very own presentation titled Out of the Dark, which was about the life of owning a guide dog. The turnout was fantastic- there was well over twenty people in attendence. Since the presentation was so insightful, SAAS will be working on reserving space in the Frick Center in the spring for an even bigger audience! Nice work Nicole!
SAAS Saving the Lemurs!

On October 25th, Students Assisting Animal Shelters sponsored a bake sale to raise money to adopt a lemur from Brookfield Zoo! SAAS chose to adopt a lemur in particular because lemurs are the most endangered vertebrate in the world! Every last cookie and brownie was sold! The bake sale was a major success!
